Congress leader Pawan Khera accuses Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar and Tamil Nadu Governor R.N. Ravi of alleged ties with George Soros, says, “We will continue to share more names over time.”
NEW DELHI: Congress leader Pawan Khera has accused Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar, Economic Advisor to the Prime Minister Dr. Shamika Ravi, and Tamil Nadu Governor R.N. Ravi of alleged links to George Soros’s Open Society Foundation.
In a video statement, Khera alleged that the BJP frequently invokes George Soros’s name to divert attention from the Adani controversy. He remarked, “They think that by talking about George Soros, they can shield Adani.”
Khera claimed that Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar’s son is associated with the George Soros Foundation through organizations like the Aspen Institute and the German Marshall Fund. He further accused Dr. Shamika Ravi received funding from the Open Society Foundation in 2008 and was associated with the Brookings Institution, which, according to him, has connections to Soros.
“Yesterday, I highlighted Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar’s son’s alleged links with the George Soros Foundation via the Aspen Institute and the German Marshall Fund. Today, I bring up another name: Dr. Shamika Ravi, the Economic Advisor to the Prime Minister and Secretary to the Government of India. She is also the daughter of R.N. Ravi, Tamil Nadu’s Governor. In 2008, Dr. Shamika Ravi reportedly received a grant from the George Soros Open Society Foundation. During her time at Brookings, it is widely believed that the institution maintained significant connections with the Open Society Foundation,” Khera said.
He promised to reveal more such names in the future, adding, “We will continue to share more names over time.”
These accusations follow the BJP’s recent claims about Congress leaders Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi allegedly being linked to George Soros. Earlier, Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju expressed concerns about Sonia Gandhi’s purported association with Soros, urging all political parties to unite against “anti-India forces.”
In his video, Khera also demanded accountability from the Prime Minister regarding foreign funding’s alleged influence on Indian governance. He called for the resignation of the accused officials and an investigation into their activities.
Khera stated, “I pose the following questions to the Prime Minister: Will you seek the resignation of S. Jaishankar? Will you demand the resignation of Dr. Shamika Ravi? Will you ask for the resignation of R.N. Ravi, the Governor of Tamil Nadu? Further, will you initiate an investigation into how these individuals may have collaborated with external forces to destabilize India? What harm have they caused to the nation’s interests? These individuals are in close proximity to you. They have allegedly received funds from George Soros, used to destabilize our country. We await your response.”
The allegations have yet to receive a formal response from the accused parties or the central government.
