NEW DELHI: During a recent X Spaces event that drew in over 100,000 listeners, Vivek Ramaswamy, an Indian-American entrepreneur and potential GOP presidential candidate, encountered an awkward situation. The event, which included notable figures such as Elon Musk and controversial personalities like Alex Jones, generated significant attention when Ramaswamy found himself in a situation that prompted him to excuse himself from the ongoing conversation.

As Elon Musk delved into his reasons for reinstating Infowars founder Alex Jones on his social media platform, Vivek Ramaswamy politely interjected with a simple, “Gentlemen, I have to go.” However, as the event continued, a discernible sound of running water became audible in the background.\

Alex promptly commented, “Somebody’s got their phone in the bathroom.” The host, Mario Nawfal, pinpointed the source, stating, “Vivek, that’s your phone. But I am not able to mute you.” Upon his return, Ramaswamy apologised for the unintended interruption.

Musk light-heartedly responded, “I hope you feel better now,” to which Ramaswamy assured, “I feel great.”

Taking to the comments section, one user humorously remarked, “This was probably the most intelligent part of the broadcast.” Another user quipped, “Vivek is literally draining the swamp,” while a third added, “That was pretty damn funny.”

The event also prompted historical comparisons, with one user pondering, “Unless there’s a recording out there of LBJ talking to reporters with the bathroom door open, I think this is indeed the first candidate we’ve heard pee.” Adding to the lighthearted tone, a fifth user shared a relatable anecdote, stating, “As a host of a live show, random stuff like that happens, LOL. I left the microphone hot once to come back to find my cat attacking it and meowing into it, LOL.”

After a user vote, Tesla CEO Elon Musk reinstated the account of right-wing conspiracy theorist Alex Jones on X, marking the decision five years after Jones’ initial ban. This revelation was made during an X audio stream that garnered over 4.5 million listeners and featured a conversation with Andrew Tate.

In 2018, Alex Jones faced a permanent suspension from X, along with his Infowars website, due to multiple violations of the platform’s abusive behaviour policy. X’s harshest penalty, the permanent suspension, not only removes the account from public view but also prohibits the individual from creating new accounts.
