After the liquor ban in Bihar, Mahto sensed an opportunity to make quick money.

The kingpin of the illicit liquor manufacturing gang is a person nick-named 'Doctor', which has a good knowledge about spirits.

Reportedly, the accused delivered liquor on-demand during night hours after finishing his coaching classes in the day. Identified as Ashutosh Raj, he confessed to smuggling liquor due to financial difficulties and to pay for coaching fees.
