Suspect held with weapons in Kulgam search operation

SRINAGAR: Security forces apprehended an individual in possession of arms and ammunition during a coordinated search operation in the Qaimoh locality of south Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Tuesday.

 

According to a statement, the operation was carried out jointly by the Indian Army and the Jammu and Kashmir Police, based on credible intelligence.

“On January 8, 2025, acting on a specific intelligence tip-off, a joint Cordon and Search Operation was conducted by the Indian Army and the Jammu and Kashmir Police in the Thokarpura neighbourhood of Qaimoh, Kulgam. During the operation, one suspect was detained, and a significant cache of arms, including an AK rifle, four magazines, 120 rounds of ammunition, two hand grenades, and other military equipment, was recovered,” said a defence spokesperson in a social media post.
