Software Engineer Gang-Raped by 10 Men in Jharkhand’s Chaubasa

Chaibasa: A 26 years old software engineer was allegedly gang-raped by 10 men in Jharkhand’s West Singhbhum district, police said on Saturday.

 

The incident took place on Thursday evening when the rape survivor went out with her boyfriend.

 

Police have not arrested any of the accused in the incident till now. The medical checkup of the survivor was conducted at the Sadar Hospital. According to the medical reports the incident of rape has been confirmed.

 

The incident happened near an old aerodrome. The rape survivor was with her boyfriend riding pillion on his bike when the accused spotted them. A group of almost 10 men started teasing her and later beat her boyfriend. Following that they took the girl to a secluded place.

 

After raping her, the accused left her on the spot and fled. They took away her wallet and mobile phone.

 

According to the Superintendent of Police, Ashutosh Shekar, a case was registered at the Muffasil police station and an investigation is underway to identify those behind the incident.

 

The woman is an IT professional and works in a Bengaluru based company. At present, she was working from home and living in Chaubasa in a rented house.

 

The woman and her boyfriend managed to reach the police station and inform them about the incident.
