Delhi Police have launched an investigation into the allegation of murder of actor-director Satish Kaushik at a farmhouse located in Bijwasan in Southwest Delhi last week.

On Saturday, the wife of the businessman on whose farmhouse Kaushik partied and later died on the night of March 8 said raised suspicion about her husband for killing the actor.

Police are set to record the statement of the woman, who earlier accused her businessman husband of rape.

An inspector-level officer from the South West police district has been asked to investigate the entire matter. “The woman will be called to record her statement,” said a police officer.

The woman has alleged that her Dubai-based businessman husband hatched a conspiracy to kill Kaushik on the intervening night of March 8 and 9.

In her police complaint, she claimed that her estranged husband had borrowed ₹15 crores from the actor, adding that he was demanding the money back but the businessman didn’t wish to repay.

She also claimed that her husband kept a huge collection of different types of drugs in the farmhouse.

“My husband has got a very big collection of different types of drugs namely ganja, amphetamine, methamphetamine,  cocaine, ephedrine, heroin, hashish oil and hashish, blue pills, pink pills, ~DMA, GHB, crack etc, which is used in all of his farmhouse parties,” she wrote in the complaint accessed by The New Indian.

On Saturday, a senior police officer said that they have recovered some “objectionable medicines” from the farmhouse where the 66-year-old actor had attended the Holi party before his death caused due to cardiac arrest.

The complaint claimed that she got married to the businessman in March 2019 and was introduced to Kaushik by her husband and that the late actor met them regularly in India and Dubai.

She claimed that Kaushik visited their house in Dubai and demanded ₹15 crores from her husband on August 23 last year.

“I was present in the drawing room where both Kaushik and my husband got involved in an argument. Kaushik was saying that he was in dire need of money and it has been three years since he gave ₹15 crores to him for investment purposes,” she alleged.

Quoting their conversation, she further said that Kaushik told her husband that he felt cheated because he neither made any investments nor returned the actor’s money.

She also shared a photo of the businessman and Kaushik, taken at a party in Dubai. The woman alleged that the son of underworld don Dawood Ibrahim was also present at the party.

“My husband promised Kaushik that he would repay the money soon. When I asked my husband what was the matter, he said that he lost Kaushik’s money during the Covid pandemic. My husband also said that he was planning to get rid of Kaushik,” she said in the complaint.

She alleged that the businessman planned to give an overdose of ‘blue pills”.

“I fully suspect that it was my husband who along with his aides conspired and murdered Kaushik with drugs so that he doesn’t have to return the money,” the complaint read.

Delhi Police have prepared a list of guests who attended the party and are planning to question them.

After the party, Kaushik complained of chest pain on the night of March 8. He was rushed to Fortis Hospital in Gurugram where he was declared brought dead.
