Sachin Tendulkar Harks Back To His Teenage Years, Shares Picture With BEST Bus

MUMBAI: Sachin Tendulkar on Monday revisited his childhood and posted a picture of him standing on the footboard of BEST (Brihanmumbai Electricity Supply & Transport) bus.

Taking to his official Twitter handle, the batting maestro captioned the photo, in which he’s wearing a blue shirt, ‘Rewind to Childhood’.” Sachin comes from a middle-class Maharashtrian Brahmin family and used to travel by bus and local trains for his practice during his teenage years.

His post went viral on social media platforms as people enthusiastically lapped it up. Till now, His Twitter post has received over 1,000 retweets and approximately 40,000 likes.

In the picture, Sachin is seen on a bus no. 315 whose destination is Ram Ganesh Gadkari Chowk (Shivaji Park). As a child prodigy, Shivaji Park was a ‘sanctum sanctorum’ for Sachin where he picked up the ropes of cricket from his mentor, the late Ramakant Achrekar. He also played a lot ofd practice matches at the Shivaji park and honed his skills.

Sachin went on to his Test debut against Pakistan at Karachi in 1989. Till now, he is the only batsman to score 100 international hundreds in the history of cricket.

He retired from international cricket in 2013 after playing 200 Tests and 463 ODIs. He was the linchpin of the Indian team which won the World Cup in 2011.
