RPF Man Shot Dead By Terrorists In Pulwama, Another Wounded

SRINAGAR: A head constable of the Railway Protection Force (RPF) was shot dead and another injured by terrorists in Kakpora area of Pulwama district in south Kashmir on Monday.

Head Constable Surinder Sigh died in the line of duty while Sub Inspector Dav Raj was greviouly injured in the firing on Monday evening.

Bike-borne terrorists fired indiscriminately near a tea stall outside the Kakpora railway station, critically injuring two RPF personnel. They were rushed to a hospital, the police said, adding that one of them succumbed to injuries on the way to the hospital while another was undergoing treatment.

“Terrorists fired upon RPF personnel at Kakapora, Pulwama. In this terror incident, 02 RPF personnel sustained bullet injuries & were evacuated to hospital, where 01 RPF personnel succumbed & attained martyrdom. Area cordoned off,” Kashmir Zone Police tweeted.

The police said that the RPF personnel were having tea outside the railway station when militants fired upon them. A massive search operation was underway in the area.
