JAIPUR: The Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) of Rajasthan Police has thwarted a plan to carry out serial blasts in Jaipur with the arrest of three suspected persons linked to Al Sufa terror group and the seizure of 10-kg of explosives and other materials used for making bombs.
The accused have been identified as Zubair, Altmas and Saiful. Preliminary investigation revealed that they are associated with Al Sufa organisation that operates in Ratlam and Dewas in Madhya Pradesh, said ATS officials.
The three suspected accused have been nabbed from Nimbahera in Chittorgarh district who were looking to facilitate serial bomb blasts in Jaipur, according to Rajasthsn ATS officials.
The Rajasthan Police have also found two bags of silver colour and grey granular explosive substance weighing 10 kg from these three miscreants.
As per ATS officials, the accused were in execution phase of the attack and were about to make bombs which would be handed over to another team to be planted at several places in Jaipur.
A joint team of Jaipur and Chittorgarh Police arrested three accused belonging to Madhya Pradesh’s Ratlam from Nimbahera area on Wednesday, officials said, adding that they also a Mahindra Bolero vehicle in which the trio was travelling.
Additional Director General of Police (ATS) Ashok Rathore informed that the police have registered an FIR at Nimbaheda police station in Chittorgarh district in this matter.
On Friday evening, a team of Madhya Pradesh ATS also arrived in Rajasthan and they along with the Rajasthan ATS were interrogating the three arrested accused.
