He also lashed out at the ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government in the state saying that the law and order situation has completely broken.

Rahul Gandhi, who arrived in India last week after his abroad visit, visited the Moosa village of the slain singer and met his parents.

He was accompanied by several senior party leaders from Punjab Congress Amarinder Singh Warring, Partap S Bajwa, Bharat Bhushan Babu and others.

Rahul Gandhi spoke to the father of Moosewala for over half an hour and then also offered his floral tribute to the party leader.

After meeting the family members, Rahul Gandhi took to Twitter and wrote in Hindi, “It is difficult to describe the grief that the parents of Congress leader Sidhu Moosewalaji are going through. It is our duty to give them justice, and we will do so.”

“The law and order of the state have completely broken down. Maintaining peace and tranquillity in Punjab is not possible for the AAP government,” he said slamming the AAP government.

Moosewala was killed on May 29 in broad daylight in Jawaharke village while he was driving in his SUV with his friends.

The AAP government has faced flak from all corners of the society over the deteriorating law and order situation in the state.

Moosewala had joined the Congress in December last year. He contested unsuccessfully from Mansa assembly seat. The Congress was ousted from the power by the AAP which won 92 out of 117 seats in the state.
