PUNJAB: Soon after Delhi chief minister and national convenor of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Arvind Kejriwal announced that he has been tested positive for Coronavirus, the chief minister of Punjab Charanjit Singh Channi called Kejriwal “Bahar ki Bimari” at a public meeting in Morinda, Punjab.
While addressing the gathering, he said, “As soon as I learnt Arvind Kejriwal has tested positive for Coronavirus, I called him up and wished him better health.”

But then he went a step ahead and lashed out at AAP in Punjabi, saying, “Punjab de lokan nu, Punjab da paisa mile. Kalnu kithey apa urey bana bethe. Punjab da paisa Delhi teh Maharastra nu lagda rahega” (We want that Punjab’s money stays in Punjab. As I learnt that Arvind Kejriwal has been tested positive, I called him  to wish him good health. But these outsiders wants to rule Punjab. Such people are using money of Delhi government for billboards and hoardings in Punjab. He is like coronavirus for Punjab. We should not take in such a disease that comes from outside and catches us).
Kejriwal on Tuesday announced that he has tested positive for Covid-19 and shared that he has isolated himself at home.
The Delhi CM urged all those who came in contact with him over the past few days to quarantine and get tested.

“I have tested positive for Covid. Mild symptoms. Have isolated myself at home. Those who came in touch wid (with) me in last few days, kindly isolate urself (yourself) and get urself tested,” Kejriwal said on Twitter.
This is reportedly the first time he has contracted the viral infection.
Last year in April, his wife Sunita had tested positive for Covid-19, and despite developing some symptoms, the CM tested negative.
Last year, several ministers in Kejriwal’s Cabinet, including Deputy CM Manish Sisodia, Health Minister Satyendar Jain, Transport Minister Kailash Gahlot, and Environment Minister Gopal Rai had contracted Covid-19.
