Completely rejecting any possibility of an alliance with Janata Dal United leader and Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, BJP state executive on Sunday passed a resolution on the matter.  BJP’s state co-in charge Vinod Tawde told reporters that the party executive passed the resolution“never align with Janata Dal (United) leader Nitish Kumar again” at the two-day BJP state executive meeting that concluded in Darbhanga.

Later senior leader and former Deputy CM Sushil Kumar Modi said that the resolution was passed as per directions of the central leadership . “It is the decision of the central BJP leadership, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah, that the party will never align with Nitish Kumar again. The decision was conveyed at the state executive meeting in Darbhanga.”

Sushil Modi said that Nitish Kumar was able to win 43 seats in the 2020 assembly elections because BJP had put all its strength behind him. “Nitish Kumar is a liability for any party he aligns with. He has no ability to get votes. Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself came to Bihar and campaigned for Nitish Kumar’s party.  Otherwise they would not have been able to win even 15 seats. Now Nitish Kumar should stay with RJD or go with some other party. He will drown that party too.  BJP is happy that he left and went away.”

Prepping for the upcoming 2024 Lok Sabha elections and the 2025 Assembly elections, BJP said that the party will go solo and was confident of forming government.  “BJP will form the government in Bihar in 2025 on its own strength.  of its strength. In the 2024 Lok Sabha elections also, BJP will win with a huge majority. So now there is no question that there will be any compromise with Nitish Kumar in this life,” said Modi.

In August, 2022 Nitish tendered his resignation as the CM and split with the BJP for the second time. Nitish, came into power in 2020 with BJP as its ally but half way through his term, he decided to join hands with RJD.
