NEW DELHI: Drawing an analogy between the functioning style of missile systems and BJP activists, North East Delhi BJP MP Manoj Tiwari on Friday said that the party workers follow the instructions of Prime Minister Narendra Modi like a “disciplined soldier” and gave him credit for the party’s victory in recently-held assembly elections.

Speaking to The New Indian on the occasion of Holi celebrations at his residence here, Tiwari said that the festival was particularly significant for the BJP workers as the party won four of the five states where elections were held in February-March.
“We are soldiers of Modi Ji. We are missiles of Modi Ji. We will land wherever we are set (programmed) for,” he said while answering a question on whether he should be given credit for boosting BJP’s chances in the polls in Uttar Pradesh by his popular campaign songs.

He further said, “We focus on working hard and we take inspiration from Narendra Modi, Yogi Adityanath, Pushkar Dham, Pramod Samwant, JP Nadda Nadda, Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh and Nitin Gadhkari.”

Tiwari said that for BJP workers, the festival of colours started on March 10 when the party comfortably retained power in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Goa, and Manipur. “Holi began on March 10 and it will continue till March 19,” he said.

The lawmaker also said that the festival was also important this year because it was celebrated with full vigour after a hiatus of two years owing to Covid-19 pandemic.

Taking a jibe at Opposition leaders, Tiwari said that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav were nowhere to be seen after the election results.
