NEW DELHI: The Indian Air Force (IAF) is organizing the Industry Outreach Event 2025 (IOE25) to enhance India’s defense capabilities and promote indigenous innovation. The event will take place over two days, with the first phase hosted online on January 13, 2025, and the second phase scheduled for January 15, 2025, at Air Force Station Guwahati.

 

IOE25 aims to provide a platform for connecting defense industry partners, innovators, and start-ups with the IAF, emphasizing the importance of innovation in defense and the Government of India’s vision to build an Atmanirbhar defense ecosystem.

The online phase will feature key sessions, including “A Brief on Atmanirbharta Initiatives by IAF” by the Directorate of Aerospace Design, IAF; “A Brief on iDEX Schemes, Policies, and Processes” by the Defence Innovation Organisation (DIO), Ministry of Defence (MoD); “Presentation on Quality Assurance and Certification Processes” by the Directorate General of Aeronautical Quality Assurance (DGAQA); “Presentation on Airworthiness Certification Process” by the Centre for Military Airworthiness and Certification (CEMILAC); and “An Introduction to Certification Requirements and Testing Processes for Airborne and Aviation Related Systems” by the Aircraft Systems Testing Establishment (ASTE), IAF.

The second phase at Air Force Station Guwahati will provide direct engagement with operators, allowing industry representatives to better understand operational requirements and identify areas where they can contribute innovative solutions.

 

This initiative seeks to strengthen industry engagement by identifying opportunities in the defense sector and leveraging cutting-edge technology to support India’s strategic goal of becoming self-reliant.
