The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday requested the people of Himachal Pradesh to vote for his party as it can change the fortunes of the people of the state.
“I am only asking for five years from the people of Himachal Pradesh. If I do not work, I will not come to ask for votes next time,” AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal said during a massive roadshow in Solan on Thursday.
While holding a road show in Solan, Kejriwal said the AAP continues to gain ground in the poll-bound state of Himachal day by day.
Kejriwal also asked the public to leave the BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) and Congress behind and trust AAP this time.
The roadshow witnessed a large crowd of supporters bearing the party’s flags, along with overwhelming support from the locals who welcomed the Delhi Chief Minister in their city.
Kejriwal was accompanied by Punjab cabinet minister and AAP Himachal in-charge Sardar Harjot Singh Bains and AAP Himachal Pradesh president Surjeet Singh Thakur.
Attacking his party’s rivals, Kejriwal said, “BJP-Congress left no stone unturned in looting the people of Himachal. Vote for AAP this time, this election can change your fortunes.”
“BJP and Congress were colluding with each other, that’s why Himachal Pradesh couldn’t progress. If they come to power again, Himachal will stay behind for ages,” he said.
“The people of Himachal Pradesh had no option till now, but now the Aam Aadmi Party has emerged as an honest option,” Kejriwal said.
Kejriwal further said, “The elections are going to be held here on the 12th of November, and this is an important date for you all. Until now, there were just two parties in the fray, and there was an understanding between both parties.”
“Until now, you did not have a choice, so you kept alternating between the two parties. You would vote for the Congress once and then get tired of their corruption and vote for the BJP the next time around, and then again when you got tired of their corruption, you’d go back to the Congress,” Kejriwal said.
“Both of these parties have looted the state of Himachal Pradesh equally. This time around, by the grace of God, an honest party has come to the state. A new party has come to Himachal Pradesh,” he said.
“The people of Delhi have tested this party twice and have fallen in love with them. They have given their blessings to the Aam Aadmi Party. The Congress has zero seats in Delhi. Zero. The BJP first got just 3 seats (in 2015) and then only 8 seats (in 2020).”
