NEW DELHI: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has initiated raids at 13 locations in Rajasthan and Haryana linked to gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, notorious criminal Kala Jathedi, and Canada-based Khalistani figure Goldy Brar.

The operation is part of a probe under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) concerning the connection between gangsters and terrorism. Notably, the illicit funds were traced to investments in the liquor and toll business.

The ongoing raids are being conducted in both states, targeting premises associated with the accused individuals. According to reliable sources, the ED’s case under PMLA stems from FIRs filed by the Haryana police against gangster Surender alias Cheeku and his associates, closely linked to Lawrence Bishnoi, Goldy Brar, and others.

The gang is notorious for engaging in criminal activities such as kidnapping, murder, extortion, and cases under the Arms Act.

“Surender Cheeku maintains ties with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang and Khalistani terror groups. He oversees the handling of their ill-gotten gains. Surender Cheeku channels the proceeds of crime into mining, liquor, and toll businesses. The ED is executing searches at 13 locations in Haryana and Rajasthan, where his gang members have invested the proceeds of crime,” stated the source.

Goldy Brar previously claimed responsibility for the brutal murder of Punjabi singer Siddhu Singh Moosewala. In a social media post, he asserted that he, along with the Lawrence Bishnoi group, orchestrated the killing.

An Indian dossier reveals that the Canada-based terrorist Goldy Brar recently sought asylum in California through legal channels to evade Indian authorities. According to the intelligence, Brar entered Canada on August 15, 2017, and subsequently fled to the US.

He is actively working to establish a new hideout in California, using encrypted communication applications to avoid detection. The hideout is expected to be set up within Fresno City, California. Lawrence Bishnoi faces numerous cases filed by the NIA and several state police departments. He is currently incarcerated in a Rajasthan jail.
