BENGALURU: Indian pacer Deepak Chahar and his long-time girlfriend Jaya Bhardwaj walked down the aisle on Wednesday in a private ceremony in Agra. Chahar had proposed to her in a dramatic manner in Dubai during an Indian Premier League (IPL) in 2021.

The wedding took place at the Jaypee Palace hotel. His cousin Rahul Chahar, who plays for Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League, was also present at the wedding.

The 29-year-old shared the photo of his marriage, along with a heartfelt note for Jaya, on Instagram.

“When I met you for the first time, I felt that you were the one and I was right. We have enjoyed every moment of our life together and I promise you to keep you always happy like this,” he wrote.

Jaya has graduated from Mumbai University and works in a corporate firm. She is the sister of former Bigg Boss contestant Siddharth Bharadwaj, who is a VJ and model.

At present Chahar is recovering from a back injury that had ruled him out of the entire IPL 2022 season. His team Chennai Super Kings missed his services terribly and failed to qualify for the Playoffs. The all-rounder had hurt his back in the T20I series against the West Indies.

Chahar has played 7 ODIs and 20 T20Is for India till now.
