Congress Plenary Session begins in Raipur to chalk out strategy for 2024 LS polls

Congress’ three-day Plenary Session began on Friday in Raipur with former party chiefs Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi and party general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra missing the Steering Committee meeting. Other than that most of thr senior leaders of party from across the country in attendance.

On Friday, the Plenary Session began with the Steering Committee meeting, which was missed by the Gandhi family.

According to party sources, the decision to hold election for electing the Congress Working Committee (CWC) will be taken up in the meeting.

Even the Steering Committee will approve the proposed resolutions by the drafting committee, following which the subject committee of the plenary session would discuss them and give their final approval to these resolutions.

The steering committee will also finalise the agenda for the next two days.

Congress general secretary (organisation) KC Venugopal had earlier said that the actual plenary for the delegates will start on the morning of 25 February at around 9.30 am. “The discussions on various issues, including education, unemployment, inflation, and our roadmap for the elections, among other issues, will be discussed,” Venugopal had said.

The source said that the Gandhi family distancing itself from the Steering Committee is meant to give a message that they don’t want to interfere in the working of new elected party chief.
