A surging crowd of fans forced Bhojpuri actress Akshara Singh to flee bare feet from an election campaigning in Bettiah area in West Champaran district of Bihar on Monday.

In a video, Akshara can be seen riding a scooter pillion as more than two dozens of the youth ran behind the vehicle for a few kilometres to get selfies with her.

The actress took out a road show in favour of mayoral candidate Garima Sikariya as people climbed atop roadside buildings, electricity poles, and vehicles to get a glance at the Bhojpuri stars.

After the roadshow concluded peacefully, Akshara reached Pokharbhinda village to seek votes in favour of Sikariya. As the news of her visit spread around, a huge number of people started gathering in the village, with many trying to take a selfie with her.

Sensing danger to her safety, Akshara was escorted out of the crowd by her security personnel. As the crowd ran behind her, she was driven to a safe place on a scooter but Rohit Sikariya, the husband of the mayoral candidate.

In a video, she can be seen covering her face with her clothes as locals continued to chase her with pleas for selfies.

Meanwhile, Bhojpuri singer Khesari Lal Yadav also took out a road show in Bettiah in support of another candidate, Surabhi Ghai on the last day of campaigning for the second phase of urban local body polls in the state.

A stampede-like situation arose after fans attempted to come near Yadav with a request for a photo with him. Police had to use light force to control the mob. Post-road show visuals show footwear and other items of people scattered around on the road.

It was a nightmare for common people to commute in the town due to huge crowds, roadblocks, and heavy police presence.
