Sidhu had kicked a huge controversy when he had recently called Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan as ‘Bada Bhai’ (big brother) during his recent visit to Kartarpur corridor crossing.
A separate controversy has already erupted over induction of Moosewala l, who faces several cases that accuse him of glorifying guns, abuses and violence in his songs.
Moosewala is originally from Moosa village in Mansa and his mother is a village sarpanch.
Several Punjabi singers and comedians during last 20 years have though either contested on Akali Dal, AAP or Congress or BJP tickets.
Sufi singer Hans Raj Hans, who comes from Jalandhar, had joined BJP ahead of 2019 Lok Sabha polls and won the election from North West Delhi.
Comedian Bhagwant Mann and Gurpreet Ghuggi had joined AAP and contested elections. Ghuggi, who had even become AAP president of Punjab, had later resigned. Jassi Jasraj and Miss Pooja too had joined AAP and BJP.
The controversy involving Moosewala is Sidhu’s second after he had made the Bhai comment when Mohammad Latif, Chief Executive Officer of the Project Management Unit of Gurdwara Darbar Sahib, Kartarpur, was welcoming him on behalf of Prime Minister Imran Khan during the reopening of Sikh shrine.
He had said, “I am honoured. Mera bada bhai hai, Usne bada pyar diya hai (He is my elder brother. He has given a lot of love).”
