In a surprising turn of events, candidates of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS)-backed Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) are leading in the Jawaharlal Nehru University Students’ Union (JNUSU) election after the counting of 2645 ballots. The counting process is still underway, and final results are anticipated by this evening. Amidst a four-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the elections witnessed a keenly contested battle between the United Left alliance, comprising the All India Students’ Association (AISA), Democratic Students Federation (DSF), Students’ Federation of India (SFI), and All India Students’ Federation (AISF), and the RSS-affiliated ABVP.

"Money from companies linked to Sharath Reddy was channeled into the BJP's coffers via Electoral Bonds. Initially, 4.5 crores were transferred, followed by an additional 55 crores post his arrest. I challenge Prime Minister Modi and the ED; now that the money trail in the liquor scandal has been uncovered, they should arrest BJP's National President JP Nadda,"

During the press briefing, Sunita Kejriwal shared a message from her husband with the public. Arvind Kejriwal’s message was one of strength and dedication, stating, “I am made of steel. Every particle of my body is for the country. My life is for the struggle and the people of this country.”

K Kavitha told the media that her arrest was politically motivated and urged the Election Commission to intervene, noting the arrest of several political leaders during elections. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is already in ED custody, raising the possibility of confrontation between the two leaders.

"Kejriwal won't resign from his position. He was elected as CM of his party. He would continue to remain so in future" Atishi told The New Indian.

The ED officials visited Kejriwal's residence to serve him a summons in the case, as he had previously skipped multiple summonses from the agency. Sources indicated that the ED was conducting searches at Kejriwal's premises in connection with the Delhi liquor policy case. After completing the searches, Kejriwal is expected to be taken to the ED office for questionin

On Thursday, the ED placed all the files and evidence related to Delhi Liquor /Excise scam against Kejriwal, before Delhi High Court. After this the High Court refused to grant any relief to Kejriwal.

According to the ED, Kavitha was involved in paying Rs 100 Crore to AAP leaders in exchange for these favours. The acts of corruption and conspiracy in the policy’s formulation and implementation allegedly led to a continuous stream of illegal funds in the form of kickbacks from wholesalers for the AAP.

Yadav's arrest follows summoning for questioning on Sunday, leading to subsequent legal action. He faces charges under sections 284, 289, and 120B, and the Wildlife Protection Act.

"A heinous act of physical abuse and intimidation was perpetrated against female students studying at Baba Saheb Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar Hospital and Medical College by an active Muslim professor. There is widespread anger and outrage across all sections of society towards this despicable act," expressed Dharmender Suri, one of the protestors.
