Majhi, who has represented the Keonjhar Assembly seat since 2019, secured victory again in the 2024 Assembly election by a margin of 11,577 votes against his nearest rival, Mina Majhi of the BJD. His political career, spanning over two decades, began as a sarpanch in 1997 and includes multiple terms as an MLA.
The incident occurred in Karachi's mobile market when Saad approached the guard for an interview. Despite the guard's reluctance to be filmed, Saad persisted, leading to a confrontation. "Election is a process of building consensus. Parliament has two sides so that both aspects of any question can be considered... Every issue has two sides. If one side is addressed by one party, the Opposition party should address the other dimension, so that we reach the right decision," Bhagwat stated, highlighting the importance of a balanced parliamentary process.
"It's been a year since Manipur has been waiting for peace. The state remained peaceful for the last 10 years, but suddenly, gun culture has increased again. It is important to resolve the conflict as a priority," Bhagwat stated, urging immediate action to restore peace in the region.
In a strongly worded legal notice, Malviya demanded an "unconditional apology" and the removal of the "extremely offensive" post within three days.
