NEW DELHI: Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal took centre stage at the AAP Headquarters on Sunday, leading a spirited protest against the issue of inflated water bills. With a symbolic act of burning a few bills, Kejriwal assured the gathered crowd that they need not bear the burden of such unjust charges, vowing to resolve the matter swiftly.

Directing his ire towards the LG and the BJP, Kejriwal minced no words, holding them responsible for the distressing situation faced by the people of Delhi. Asserting that neither the BJP nor its allies could escape divine scrutiny, he declared, “God is watching everything unfold. In the end, they will reap what they sow.”

Recalling his past battles with the BJP to ensure free medicines and cover rent and electricity bills, Kejriwal reiterated his commitment to addressing the issue at hand. “Now they’ve resorted to inflating water bills, but fear not, I’m here and will rectify the situation,” he assured the gathering.

In a candid appeal to the electorate, Kejriwal questioned the paradox of their support for the BJP in general elections despite considering him family. “If all seven candidates of the INDIA alliance emerge victorious this time, it will provide a shield for Delhi, deterring any further missteps,” he reasoned.

Pointing fingers at the BJP’s parliamentary representatives, Kejriwal lamented their lack of advocacy for Delhi’s interests. “None of the seven BJP MPs ever championed the cause of Delhi or its people in Parliament,” he lamented. “But if you grant me all seven seats, the LG won’t dare to overstep his bounds.”

Kejriwal outlined efforts to address the issue, citing a scheme aimed at rectifying water bills for 11 lakh affected individuals. “We won’t allow the BJP to resort to hooliganism,” he asserted. “While fixing the water bills of 11 lakh residents seems daunting, our innovative scheme aims to address the issue based on past billing accuracy.”

In his signature style, Kejriwal’s impassioned address resonated with the crowd, reaffirming his commitment to championing their cause and confronting injustices head-on.
