NEW DELHI: AAP National Convenor and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal announced the launch of the Pujari Granthi Samman Yojana, aimed at supporting the priests of temples and the ‘granthis’ of Gurudwaras in the national capital.

Under this scheme, an honorarium of ₹18,000 per month will be provided to eligible priests and granthis. Speaking about the initiative, Kejriwal stated, “This scheme is a step towards respecting and supporting those who serve in places of worship. Registration for the scheme will begin tomorrow.”

This marks the third scheme launched by Kejriwal ahead of the February elections. Posting on X, he wrote:

“After the victory of the Aam Aadmi Party, priests of temples and granthis of Gurudwaras in Delhi will be given an honorarium of ₹18,000 per month.

This scheme is a recognition of their spiritual contributions to society and their efforts to preserve our cultural heritage.

To BJP leaders: Do not try to obstruct this initiative, or you will incur a great deal of bad karma.”*

In response to a question about Rohingyas, Kejriwal demanded action against Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri. “I request them to arrest Hardeep Singh Puri. He has all the data on where he settled Rohingyas and how. He tweeted and gave the information. Hardeep Singh Puri and Amit Shah have all the data on how and where they have settled Rohingyas,” Kejriwal said.

The Chief Minister also shared that he will personally visit the Hanuman Temple in Connaught Place tomorrow to officially inaugurate the registration process.

This initiative is expected to benefit hundreds of religious leaders across Delhi and has been welcomed as a significant step for community welfare.
