NEW DELHI: Ammucare, a leading non-profit dedicated to serving underprivileged communities across India, marked its 21st anniversary with an event on November 9, 2024, at the OP Jindal Auditorium in New Delhi. Founded in 2003, Ammucare has consistently supported countless individuals through food distribution, shelter, education, healthcare, disaster relief, and animal welfare. Led by humanitarian Mohanji, the organization continues to embody values of kindness, non-violence, and selfless service, inspired by the principle of “humanity as the highest religion.”
In an exclusive interview with The New Indian, Mohanji reflected on the journey of the past 21 years, stating, “It’s been very gradual, organic growth, and what we need today in the world is much more harmony and peace.” He continued, “We are already in 31 countries, and we do a lot of work globally. In South Africa, for instance, the crime rate in our locality has reduced by 80%, according to police records, all through feeding and providing food.”

The event was graced by Iqbal Singh Lalpura, Cabinet Minister and Chairman of the National Commission for Minorities, as the Chief Guest, along with distinguished guests, including spiritual leader Swami Goswami Sushilji Maharaj. Their presence highlights the widespread recognition Ammucare has earned for its dedicated humanitarian efforts.
Children from Mohanji Ka Aangan, an Ammucare initiative that empowers underprivileged youth, performed at the event. Tributes were also paid to Ammucare’s volunteers, donors, and supporters, whose dedication has been pivotal to the organization’s impact. Reflecting on Ammucare’s journey, founder Mohanji shared, “Our story is one of love, resilience, and selfless service. With continued community support, we aim to build a brighter future for those in need.”
