Amitabh Bachchan gets injured during shoot in Hyderabad; UP Deputy CM prays for quick recovery

Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan is recovering from an injury he sustained during the shoot of ‘Project K’ in Hyderabad.  He wrote about the incident on his blog. The film’s shoot has been postponed. Directed by Nag Ashwin Project K also stars Prabhaas and Deepika Padukone.

“In Hyderabad at the shoot for Project K, during an action shot, I have got injured .. rib cartilage popped broke and muscle tear to the right rib cage .. canceled shoot .. did Doctor consult and scan by CT at the AIG Hospital in Hyderabad and flown back home .. strapping has been done and rest been advocated .. yes painful .. on movement and breathing .. will take some weeks they say before some normalisation will occur .. some medication is on also for pain,” he wrote in his blog.

As soon as the information from the blog was shared on Twitter, messages of several concerned public figures extended their prayers started to pour in. Uttar Pradesh Deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya tweeted, “The pride of Prayagraj, the superhero of the century, the great actor Mr. Amitabh Bachchan has been reported injured during the shooting. I pray to Lord Shri Ram for his speedy recovery.

Bachchan said that he will not be able to make his daily appearance on the balcony of Jalsa because of his injury.

For many fans, any reports of an accident related to Bachchan’s senior bring back the tragic memories of the one he suffered during the shooting of ‘Coolie’ in 1982.  Bachchan suffered a near-death experience and was declared ‘clinically dead’. He got injured while shooting a fight sequence with Puneet Issar for the film Coolie. During the fight scene shoot, Puneet mistakenly punched hard in the actor’s stomach, which led to serious internal injuries. He was in a coma for several days.
