AAP alleges large-scale voter fraud in New Delhi assembly constituency

NEW DELHI: In a press conference held on Monday, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of orchestrating large-scale voter fraud in the New Delhi Assembly constituency.

Chief Minister Atishi and senior AAP leaders, including MP Raghav Chadha and MP Sanjay Singh, alleged that fraudulent voter additions and deletions were being carried out to manipulate electoral outcomes.

They demanded immediate intervention from the Election Commission to safeguard the integrity of the electoral process.

“Large scale fraud taking place in voter additions and deletions in New Delhi assembly. Delhi CM Atishi ji has written a letter to Hon’ble CEC presenting evidence and seeking time to meet,” tweeted AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal.

CM Atishi revealed that between December 15, 2024, and January 2, 2025, 10,500 applications for new voter additions—amounting to 10% of the constituency’s voter base—and 6,167 applications for voter deletions were submitted after the official summary revision period had ended.

“Adding 10,000 new voters in a constituency with one lakh voters could completely alter the election outcome,” she stated.

Highlighting irregularities, Atishi said, “Of the 6,167 voter deletion applications, 4,283 were filed by just 84 people. When summoned, these individuals denied filing any applications. This is a clear conspiracy to manipulate voter rolls.”

MP Raghav Chadha emphasized the alarming scale of the fraud. “Even objectors summoned for hearings have denied submitting applications. This indicates that identities were stolen and misused to delete legitimate votes,” he said, calling for 100% verification, house-to-house surveys, and public disclosure of applicant details to ensure transparency.

Sanjay Singh pointed out discrepancies in the process, questioning the Election Commission’s inaction. “The BJP knows they will face a massive defeat in Arvind Kejriwal’s constituency, so they are attempting to manipulate the elections through fraud. But we will expose their misconceptions,” he said.

AAP has urged the Election Commission to halt the fraudulent deletions and conduct a thorough investigation. “Our freedom fighters envisioned a democracy where every citizen’s vote matters.

This fraud is tearing apart the essence of our Constitution,” said CM Atishi, underscoring the urgency of safeguarding the democratic process.
