Ambani's CNBC amps up advertising efforts following NDTV Profit's lackluster launch.

NEW DELHI: A day after NDTV relaunched its old business channel, NDTV Profit, among the bouquet of channels it already has, Mukesh Ambani’s Network18 group rolled out a series of digital advertisements across social media platforms, recounting the 25-year journey of CNBC TV18.

The digital ad features their Managing Editor Shereen Bhan and Executive Editor Latha Venkatesh, who have played pivotal roles in the channel’s business coverage and programmes on finance, markets, and macroeconomics.

The three-and-a-half-minute video reflects on CNBC’s collaborations with various media organisations and features film stars and politicians such as Mandira Bedi, Shah Rukh Khan, and Kamal Nath, who served as brand ambassadors for the channel’s initiatives.

In a $1.2 billion deal announced on Wednesday, India’s TV18 Broadcast (TVEB.NS) is set to merge with Network18 Media & Investments (NEFI.NS), a move that aims to expand the reach and cut costs for the Reliance-owned companies.

The all-stock deal will consolidate Mukesh Ambani’s Reliance-owned broadcast and digital businesses, which include the business news portal Moneycontrol and the streaming platform JioCinema, according to an exchange filing by the two firms.
