In ‘The Archies,’ Vedang Raina steps into the role of Reggie Mantle, set in the fictional town of Riverdale during the 1960s in India. He brings the character to life as a funny and confident guy, known for being quick-witted and a bit self-absorbed. Despite Reggie secretly liking Veronica Lodge, he’s not shy about dating other girls in Riverdale. Vedang’s performance adds a humorous touch, highlighting Reggie’s unique and unapologetic self-love.

Born on December 31, Vedang completed his schooling from Jamnabai Narsee School and pursued a business degree from the Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies in Mumbai. Initially interested in singing and playing guitar, Vedang transitioned to acting during college fests and events, joining an agency while studying business. Despite his shift to acting, he still follows his love for music. Vedang’s musical talents shine on his YouTube channel, where he covers songs like ‘Earned It’ by The Weeknd, ‘Get You’ by Daniel Caesar ft. Kali Uchis, and ‘Phir Le Aya Dil’ by Arijit Singh.

Speaking at a media event, Vedang Raina revealed his deep admiration for Hrithik Roshan, recalling how he was fascinated by the character ‘Krrish’ during his childhood. This childhood inspiration fuelled his serious interest in acting. As Vedang matured, he also found inspiration in Matthew McConaughey’s performances in ‘Interstellar’ and ‘True Detective Season 1.’

According to a media report, Vedang’s performance in ‘The Archies’ trailer impressed director Vasan Bala and Karan Johar, leading to his inclusion in the upcoming Alia Bhatt starrer ‘Jigra.’ The film, exploring a prison break theme, has already started shooting and is slated for a theatrical release on September 27, 2024.
