NEW DELHI: As of 9 am, Rajasthan has witnessed a 9.77 per cent voter turnout in the ongoing Assembly polls, with leading political figures expressing hopes for a 100 per cent participation by the end of the day.
Notable districts like Hanumangarh, Dholpur, and Baran have taken an early lead, registering a turnout of over 12 per cent, while other districts range between 9 and 10 per cent.

Rajasthan stands united in determining the fate of 1,900 candidates competing for the 199 seats in the state. The voting process commenced at 7 am and will continue until 6 pm.
Critical constituencies with heavyweight candidates, including Sardarpura, Tonk, Jhalawar, Nathdwara, Jhunjhunu, Jhotwara, Jhalarapatan, Bhilwara, Chittorgarh, Jodhpur, Sawai Madhopur, and others, are pivotal in shaping the electoral outcome.
Prominent figures such as Sachin Pilot, Vasundhara Raje, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, CP Joshi, and Gulab Chand Kataria exercised their voting rights by 9:30 am. However, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot is yet to cast his vote.
As the ruling Congress aims to break the three-decade-old pattern of alternating governments, the BJP relies on the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and critical social issues like women’s safety, farmers’ suicides, and more.
The BJP’s manifesto underscores initiatives such as Kisan Samman Nidhi, women’s security, and incentive schemes, while the Congress emphasises caste-based census and support for farmers.
In the Rajasthan Assembly, which has a total of 200 seats, 199 seats are currently in contention. The Karanpur constituency remains excluded from the election process following the unfortunate demise of Congress candidate Gurmeet Singh Koonar.
