EOAI pushes forward the idea of PM’s vision of ‘Make in India’

NEW DELHI: Essential Oil Association of India (EOAI), positioned at the heart of the aromatic industry, has announced the 25th bi-annual event open. This furthers the vision of ‘Aroma Mission’, also known as ‘the Lavender or Purple Revolution’, launched in 2016 to enhance the cultivation of plants with aromatic medical properties like Lavender, Rosemary, Aloe Vera, Mint, Musk Bala, Menthol, and others.

“Under the able leadership of Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, Aroma Mission has grown into a sacred campaign for many industries of the country. Essential Oil Association of India (EOAI), placed at the core of the aroma industry, has been working top-down the ladder to uplift the farmers and add immense value to the national mission,” said Sanjay Varshney, President of EOAI.

He added, “With World Aroma Ingredients Congress and Expo, 2024, to be organized in the southern capital of India, Chennai in February 2024 on 08-09-10th February, EOAI proudly announces the 25th bi-annual event open.”

BJP MP and MoS B.L.Verma attended the occasion of “Curtain Raiser Ceremony of EOAI’S Bi – Annual Event”. He remarked “This expo will embrace Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi Ji’s vision of 5 trillion Indian economy to new heights.

The event focuses on boosting farmers and in turn furthering the vision of ‘Make in India’.

Varshney said “Farmers are at the core of the Indian Economy and EOAI brings together the Industry’s Business owners and such farmers to make ‘Make In India’ a holistic success story.”

“With many new aromatic plants and crops planted domestically, new products are now available from India to global buyers. Moreover, most of the aroma enterprises are a part of the Micro, Small, Medium Enterprise (MSME), being supported by the Council of Scientific and Industrial research (CSIR), Government of India, thus promoting the vision of the Prime Minister,” he said.

The theme of the Silver Jubilee event will be ‘India- Global Hub for Essential Oils, Fragrances and Flavors’. The EOAI President also anticipates that the event will be attended by over 1200 Indian and more than 300 International delegates.

Pradeep Jain, the Secretary of EOAI said “This event focuses on making India a central repository for human as well as crop resources”. He mentioned that Indian businesses export over INR 7500 Crores worth of Essential Oils, Fragrances and Flavors to the world. Total worth of this aroma industry in India is Rs 50000 Crores making it a pandora box for India’s economy.

EOAI was established in 1956 in Kanpur at Harcourt Butler Technical University, later moving to NCR in 1992 and finally solidifying its presence in Noida in 2012. EOAI is closely associated with farmers, scientists and aroma entrepreneurs, catering to the flavors and fragrances industry at a global level.

Suneet Goel was deemed Chairman of the event and will be shouldering the responsibility with others.
