NEW DELHI: An exhibition titled ‘Bharat: The Mother of Democracy’ will be showcased at the upcoming G20 Summit which will be attended by leaders of the US, the UK, Canada, France, Germany along with several other powerful countries.
This exhibition will serve as a tribute to India’s rich cultural and traditional heritage, drawing inspiration from ancient civilizations. It is scheduled to take place at the prestigious Bharat Mandapam in Delhi from September 9th to 10, coinciding with the main summit proceedings held at Hall No. 14 (foyer area), ITPO.
The centerpiece of the exhibition will feature a striking replica sculpture of a young woman from the Sindhu Saraswati civilization, elegantly poised on an elevated podium at the heart of the hall.

According to a source in the ministry of culture, “She stands as a symbol of confidence, self-assurance, and equality. Her gaze meets the world on an equal footing, representing independence and liberation. She adorns herself with jewelry reminiscent of the everyday adornments worn by women in Western India.”
The actual sculpture stands at a modest 10.5 cm in height. However, the replica has been magnificently recreated, standing at an impressive 5 feet tall and weighing a substantial 120 kilograms, all meticulously crafted in bronze, as reported by The New Indian.
