MUMBAI: The opposition INDIA alliance will hold its third meeting in Mumbai on Friday to discuss seat sharing for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

The meeting, which is scheduled to begin at 10:30 a.m. at the Grand Hyatt hotel, will be attended by leaders of 28 opposition parties.

A top source told The New Indian that the main focus of the meeting will be on finalizing the seat-sharing formula. “The parties have been asked to come prepared with their proposals.”

The source also said that discussions will be held on who will be the convenor of the alliance.

The meeting is expected to end with a press conference at 3:00 p.m.

BJP to hold meeting with Shiv Sena, Ajit Pawar group

Interestingly, the opposition’s meeting clashes with a similar huddle by the BJP-led alliance in Mumbai to discuss the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. The meeting, which will be held at the Worli office of the party, will be attended by leaders of the BJP, Shiv Sena and the Ajit Pawar group of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP).

The BJP is expected to discuss its strategy for the elections and its alliance with the Shiv Sena. The party is also expected to discuss the issue of seat sharing.

The meeting is likely to be held after the INDIA Alliance meeting.

The opposition parties are facing a tough challenge from the BJP in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. The BJP is currently in power at the Centre and in many states. The party is also seen as the favorite to win the next elections.
The opposition parties are hoping to unite and defeat the BJP in the next elections. The INDIA Alliance is a major step towards this goal.

The meeting in Mumbai is a crucial one for the opposition parties. The outcome of the meeting will be closely watched by political observers across the country.
