NUH(HARYANA): Trouble has mounted for tobacco giant Kuber group’s flamboyant promoter Vikas Malu after Haryana Police’s ongoing probe has found, he was one of the occupants of the speeding Rolls Royce – claimed to be driven at 200 km/hour — that crashed into a private company’s vehicle in Nuh on the national highway last week, with his lawyer confirming that the billionaire would join the probe. “Haryana Police has invited Vikas Malu to join the probe.

He underwent a successful surgery today and as soon as he is discharged, he will join the investigation,” senior advocate Rajesh Thakur, who is representing Malu, told The New Indian.

Eyewitnesses and officials of APCO Infratech, the company whose driver and his aide –Rampreet and Kuldeep from UP’s Ambedarkanar and Ayodhya– in the vehicle had died, have pinned the blame on Malu and others for the rash driving.

They insist that Nuh Police did not name Malu and others due to their financial stature and money power, leaving the “Accused” field as anonymous in the FIR.

Initially, the Haryana Police did not mention any names in the FIR, but when The New Indian confronted the police, they confirmed the presence of three people inside the car — Vikas Malu, Tasvir, and Divya.

Malu’s lawyer has also confirmed two of these names, but has added that “Tasvir was driving the car,”

Malu, who is a resident of Sainik Farms, is undergoing a surgery at Medanta hospital in Gurgaon.

“Driver Tasvir, Vikas Malu and a woman were inside the car during the crash. Malu suffered a dislocated elbow, while the lady suffered a fracture and the driver got minor injuries,” said Thakur

Haryana Police had registered a case for rash driving, causing hurt, and culpable homicide under IPC sections of 279, 337, and 304 A against unknown people.

“We will press for the charges of culpable homicide against Malu, Tasvir and a woman who was inside the car,” A.B Singh, manager (administration), APCO Infratech, the company, whose two employees had died, told The New Indian

“The Rolls Royce guys survived because they were travelling in an expensive car but did not even bother to pick the injured from the truck or take them to the hospital. Otherwise they would have been alive. We will fight for them. Justice will be brought to them,” Singh added.

The Haryana Police summons to Malu had come on Sunday, five days after the tragic accident. The Rolls Royce had gone up in flames after the accident.
