In a viral video, Bittu can be seen saying ‘tera jija aa raha hai’
NEW DELHI: Bittu Bajrangi, a cow vigilante and a right-wing activist, was arrested by the Haryana Police in a dramatic fashion from Faridabad on Tuesday. This is his second arrest this month in connection with the Nuh violence.
On August 2, Bittu, in his 40s, was taken into custody by the Faridabad Police for sharing a provocative video on social media just a day before the violence that rocked Nuh, Palwal, Gurugram and other adjoining districts.
CCTV footage accessed by The New Indian showed a group of Nuh Police cops in plain clothes carrying guns and sticks running in an alleyway before detaining him from his residence. He has been charged with rioting and assaulting police officials during clashes in Nuh on July 31.

According to the FIR, Bajrangi and his associates were found to be in possession of illegal weapons. When the police attempted to intervene, their response turned aggressive. In the midst of the altercation, Bajrangi and his group purportedly assaulted the police and later escaped police custody.
Bittu has been charged with IPC sections 148,149,332,353,395,397 and 506
Earlier, he faced accusations of disseminating a video on social media with the message “tera jija aa raha hai” (your brother-in-law in coming), which is believed to have added fuel to the fire amidst the communal charged environment.
Bajrangi has been arrested under sections 148, 149 (unlawful assembly), 332 (voluntarily causing hurt to deter a public servant from discharging duty), 353 (assault, criminal force to deter public servant), 186 (voluntarily obstructing any public servant), 395 (dacoity), 397 (dacoity with attempt to cause grievous hurt), and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the IPC at Nuh’s Nalhar police station. Additional associates were also named in the FIR, as confirmed by the police.

On Wednesday, a court sent him to one-day police remand for questioning.
In a statement, Vishwa Hindu Parishad refuted media reports describing him as a VHP worker.
Nuh witnessed communal clashes on July 31, leading to six deaths and over 50 injuries. Nuh Police filed more than 44 FIRs and arrested over 100 individuals involved in violence or sharing provocative content on social media.
The district is gradually returning to normalcy after the lifting of curfew restrictions last week. However, a significant police presence remains in various parts of the district.
