INDORE, MP: Union Home minister Amit Shah addressed the ‘Vijay Sankalp Sammelan’ of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, on Sunday.

During his speech, Shah criticised the Congress-led government, stating that they had not done enough for the welfare of the poor in the country during their 70-year rule.

Shah hailed PM Modi as the “messiah of the poor” due to the various welfare initiatives undertaken for the benefit of the underprivileged.

He urged the BJP workers to work towards securing victory in all 29 Lok Sabha seats in Madhya Pradesh to ensure Modi’s re-election as the country’s Prime Minister.

“In 2019, the people of MP gave 28 out of the 29 Lok Sabha seats in the state to the BJP. In 2024, give all the 29 seats to Modi,” HM Shah said.

Shah praised the party’s organisation in the state, considering it one of the best across the country.

Confident about the BJP’s prospects in the upcoming State Assembly polls in November, Shah expressed his belief that the party would retain power in Madhya Pradesh.

He reiterated PM Modi’s reputation as the saviour of the poor, highlighting the contrasting inaction of the Congress government in addressing poverty-related issues during their long tenure.

“PM Modi is known as the messiah of the poor due to the welfare work done for them,” HM Shah said, adding, “The Congress government, which ruled the country for 70 years, didn’t do anything for the poor.”

HM Shah criticised the Congress for nurturing Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir for 70 years, indicating that the BJP had taken a decisive stand by abrogating it.

He also commended the BJP’s strong response to Pakistani terrorism during the UPA regime, citing surgical strikes conducted under Modi’s leadership.

Praising the government’s handling of the COVID-19 pandemic, HM Shah stated that PM Modi’s swift action in providing vaccines to the country’s 130 crore people had saved India from the worst impacts of the virus.

Furthermore, Shah credited the BJP government in Madhya Pradesh for transforming the state from its previously underdeveloped “BIMARU” status under the previous Congress rule.

The BJP’s ‘Vijay Sankalp Sammelan’ served as a platform for HM Shah to rally the party workers and boost their spirits ahead of the upcoming elections.
