Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar made a surprising disclosure in the Maharashtra Assembly, revealing that Uddhav Thackeray, while serving as Chief Minister, had declined permission for the installation of a statue of former Indian Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee in Borivali. This revelation has sparked controversy and has brought attention to the differing approaches of political leaders when it comes to honoring eminent personalities.

Ajit Pawar stated, “During my tenure as the Deputy CM of Maharashtra, an incident came to my notice. A statue of former Indian Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee was presented to me from the constituency of BJP MP Gopal Shetty.”
