NEW DELHI: Class 10 pass out Sakshi was in a romantic relationship with her boyfriend-turned-killer Sahil Khan for the past one year and paid no heed to repeated advice of her parents.

According to the FIR registered in the May 28 brutal murder case, her mother and father were aware of their relationship and would often warn her against indulging in any romantic relationship because she was underage.

Her labourer father Janak Raj, in his police complaint, said that Sakshi would become angry at their words of caution and often stay at her friend Neetu’s residence which is in the vicinity.

Sakshi’s minor brother has said that Neetu’s husband was in jail and that she would help her friend in tendering to her children. She has recently cleared class 10 exams.

She was staying with Neetu for the past 10 days, the father said in the FIR.

On the fateful night of Sunday, May 28, it was Neetu who informed the parents about her being stabbed by Sahil 24 times in a busy alleyway in Shahbad Dairy area of outer northwest Delhi.

“When we arrived at Block B, Shahbad Dairy, we found Sakshi lying in a pool of blood. She had multiple injuries on her body and head. The police had also arrived by then. Unfortunately, my daughter had already passed away,” it reads.

Meanwhile, Delhi Police, during the course of its investigation, have found that Sahil was not alone at his home on the day of the murder and have interrogated five of his friends so far. Several others are on the police radar.

Accused Sahil, who was arrested from Bulandshahr in Uttar Pradesh a day after the murder, was produced before a local court on Thursday, which extended his police custody for two days.

While seeking the custody extension, the police said that the murder weapon, a knife, is yet to be recovered. Furthermore, the police informed the court that corroborating the sequence of events will require Sahil to be confronted with other witnesses involved in the case.

Sakshi’s Bhawna has said that the victim had been threatened for nearly a week by Sahil. “We begged him to stay away from Sakshi, pleading for her safety. Little did we know that the very next day, as we joyfully headed to Neetu’s house to celebrate her daughter’s birthday, Sakshi excused herself to use the restroom. In reality, it was an Instagram call from Sahil, and she went to meet him. Within minutes, I received the devastating news that Sakshi had been brutally murdered on a nearby street,” she shared.
