Tej Pratap Yadav, the son of former Bihar Chief Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav, is faithfully carrying on his father’s legacy by pledging to prevent the entry of Bageshwar Baba into Bihar. Drawing parallels to a significant event from the past, in 1990, when veteran Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader L.K. Advani, embarked on his rath yatra through Bihar, Lalu Prasad Yadav, then the Chief Minister, took a resolute stand and ensured Advani’s detention.
Now, history seems to be repeating itself as Tej Pratap Yadav mirrors his father’s approach but with a small difference. While his father as the CM had Police force at his disposal, Pratap is raising a private army to get his job done. Presently, Tej Pratap, a devout Hindu is mobilizing an armed militia to obstruct the arrival of Dhirendra Shashtri, more commonly known as Bageshwar Baba, embodying his father’s staunch opposition to Hindutva ideologies. “We will oppose him (Shastri) and take action against him if he creates a communal divide,” warned Tej Pratap
The 26-year old controversial peethadhish of the Bageshwar Dham (Madhya Pradesh) will arrive in Patna on Saturday and hold a “satsang” at Taretpali Math. Dhirendra Krishna Shastri also known as Bageshwar Dham Sarkar/Maharaj, is the peethadhish of the Bageshwar Dham Sarkar, a religious pilgrimage site inChhatarpur district of Madhya Pradesh in India. Shastri will arrive in Patna on Saturday morning and is scheduled to hold a program at Taret Pali Math from May 13th to May 17th.

In a significant incident that unfolded nearly three decades ago, precisely on October 23, 1990, the charismatic Chief Minister of Bihar, Lalu Prasad, made a decisive move that would leave an indelible mark on the political landscape of the nation. It was during this time that the legendary LK Advani embarked on his monumental Ram Rath Yatra, a grand spectacle featuring a luxurious air-conditioned chariot. However, the journey came to an abrupt halt under the unwavering authority of Lalu Prasad in the unassuming town of Samastipur. This event would go on to shape the course of the country’s politics for years to come.
The ambitious endeavor by LK Advani to mobilize Hindus through his Ram Rath Yatra, coupled with Lalu Prasad’s bold decision to apprehend him, marked a pivotal moment in the nation’s history. This event gave rise to the Mandal-Mandir politics, which divided society along religious and caste lines, leaving a lasting impact on the socio-political fabric of the country.
