BJP MLA Narayan Tripathi announced formation of new political party in MP

While the assembly elections in Madhya Pradesh are still some distance away, most probably towards the end of the year, the political churning has already started.

The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA Narayan Tripathi from Maihar has announced the formation of a new party, the Vindhya Janata Party (VJP). He also said that his newly formed party will contest the assembly election from 30 seats in the Vindhya region.

The new party’s formation comes amid demands for the revival and reorganisation of Vindhya Pradesh and also amid Tripathi’s rebellious behaviour towards the government.

With the entry of VJP, it would be interesting to see if the newly formed party affects the BJP’s hold on seats in Rewa, Satna, Sidhi, Singrauli, Shahdol, Anuppur, and Umaria districts.

The registration of the VJP will be completed by April 15th, and Tripathi has urged the people of Vindhya to support his party in the struggle for the revival of the region.

The move has caused a political stir in Satna and throughout the state, as Tripathi aims to take Vindhya with him and make the region a state and Maihar a district.

During the closing ceremony of the Vindhya Premier League Season 2 held in Maihar Stadium, Tripathi himself announced that VJP candidates will contest 30 seats in the Rewa and Shahdol regions.

Having been elected four times as an MLA from SP, Congress, and BJP, Tripathi, improvising the slogan of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, “You give me blood, I will give you freedom”, appealed to the people of Vindhya for their support.

“This time, VJP candidates will also compete against the BJP and Congress. The people of Vindhya may decide to contest the election with Vindhya’s party,” he said.

In the last election, the BJP won 27 out of the 30 seats in the Vindhya region.

“We will take our Vindhya with us. The beginning will be made from these 30 seats and then its expansion will be done in those districts and regions as well, which were part of Vindhya Pradesh before the merger in Madhya Pradesh,” Tripathi announced.

“But before that, we will have to fix our home. We will have to fight and win the 30 seats in seven districts. We will take our Vindhya with us,” he added.

Tripathi said that the government will have to make Vindhya a state and Maihar a district. “Injustice has been done to us. Our Vindhya has been taken away from us and we will take it back,” he said.

“Leaders are afraid of demanding Vindhya because of the anger of governments, but I am not afraid. My only dream is the resurgence of Vindhya Pradesh because the development of our region and our generations will only happen through the reorganisation of Vindhya Pradesh,” Tripathi added.
