Setting the stage for the next year’s general elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in a televised address to crores of BJP workers, on Thursday said that India – under his government – is realizing its powers like Lord Bajrang Bali did during the Treta Yuga.

Addressing BJP workers on the occasion of its 44th foundation day, PM Modi – arguably the most popular leader the party have ever had – highlighted the saffron camp’s values and future goals while launching a fresh attack on Opposition parties.

Appearing via video conference, the prime minister started his speech by wishing everyone on the auspicious day of Hanuman Jayanti.

Stressing the values of Lord Hanuman, he said, “Today, India is realizing its great powers like that of Bajrang Bali. India has emerged much stronger to face the ocean-like big challenges. Hanuman Ji can do anything, he does it for everyone but not for himself! BJP derives its inspiration from him.”

He then went on to highlight BJP’s mantra and goal: “Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat,” which means “One India, Great India.” PM Modi also spoke about the faith he has in the intellect and values of the people of the country and how it has been strengthening day by day.

Furthermore, PM Modi attacked the opposition parties, accusing them of playing politics in the name of social justice and working for the welfare of their families, not the people. He stressed that social justice has been an article of faith for the BJP, unlike other parties where it has just been a political slogan.

PM Modi also talked about dynasty politics and imperial mindsets, stating that many political parties did politics over justice and worked only for their families’ benefit. He accused some people of nurturing a badshahi (imperial) mentality and considering the people of the country as their ‘ghulam’ (slaves).

During the speech, PM Modi showed a clip about the start and history of BJP, setting the tone for the upcoming 2024 Lok Sabha polls. He urged party workers to not limit themselves to winning elections but to ensure winning the hearts of the people. He added that they have to fight every election with the same level of energy and hard work as they have done since the 1980s.

PM Modi ended his speech by encouraging everyone to resolve to take the nation to new heights and to realize the dreams of Maa Bharti (Mother India). He also prayed that the people’s faith and blessings remain with the BJP as they complete 50 years of formation and the nation celebrates 100 years of independence.
