Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be visiting Bhopal on April 1. He will be attending the Combined Commanders’ Conference-2023. He is also scheduled to flag off Vande Bharat Express between Bhopal and New Delhi.

PM Modi’s visit to MP comes at a time when the state is heading for polls in November.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has begun poll preparations in Madhya Pradesh, with national president JP Nadda inaugurating a 10-storied office of the party at Bhopal on Sunday. “The party will win more than 200 out of 230 Assembly seats in Madhya Pradesh,” Nadda said.

PM Modi will attend the Combined Commanders’ Conference-2023 at the Kushabhau Thakre Hall in Bhopal at around 10 am.

The three-day conference of Military Commanders will be held from March 30 to April 1 on the theme ‘Ready, Resurgent, Relevant’.

“During the Conference, deliberations will be held over a varied spectrum of issues pertaining to national security, including jointness and theaterisation in the Armed Forces. Preparation of the Armed Forces and progress in the defence ecosystem towards attaining ‘Aatmanirbharta’ will also be reviewed, the PMO said.

The conference will witness the participation of commanders from the three-armed forces and senior officers from the Ministry of Defence.

After this, at around 3.15 pm, PM Modi will flag off the Vande Bharat Express train between Bhopal and New Delhi at the Rani Kamlapati Railway Station, Bhopal.

“The new train being introduced between Rani Kamlapati Railway Station, Bhopal and New Delhi Railway Station will be the eleventh Vande Bharat train in the country, the PMO said.

“The indigenously designed train is equipped with state-of-the-art passenger amenities. It will provide a faster, more comfortable and more convenient travel experience to the rail users, boost tourism and promote economic development in the region,” it added.

In the 2018 elections, the BJP, which had been in power since 2005, won 109 seats, while the Congress emerged as the largest party with 114 seats in the 230-member House.

The Congress formed a government under Kamal Nath. But it collapsed in March 2020 when MLAs loyal to Jyotiraditya Scindia revolted, paving the way for the return of Shivraj Singh Chouhan as chief minister and the formation of the government in 2020.
