Delhi CM hails his Punjab counterpart for his efforts to maintain law and order in the UT
AAP National Convenor and Delhi Chief Minister Shri Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday, March 21, praised the Sardar Bhagwant Mann-led Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government in Punjab for the decisive and firm action taken against forces acting against the state.
Without taking the name of fugitive Khalistani leader Amritpal Singh, Kejriwal said the action taken by the Punjab government in the last couple of days has shown that it is ready to take any kind of action against people who work against the country.
“We are all patriots and deeply love our country. We will not let anyone act against the country. Any person who tries to destabilise the peace that is prevalent in the society will be arrested as per the law,” CM Kejriwal said.
The AAP National Convenor said that the AAP government in Punjab is ready to take the strongest of actions against anyone who tries to destabilise the country.
“The way the Mann led government has worked in the last few days has shown this. I would like to congratulate him and the AAP government in Punjab. I would also like to thank the people of the state for standing up against such people and assisting their state government. I pray to Waheguru that Punjab remains peaceful and prosperous in the years to come,” he said.
Kejriwal further said that over the last year, the AAP government in Punjab has shown that if the government is honest and its intentions are in the right place, then it can do several things, including maintaining law and order.
CM Kejriwal further said that a year ago, when the AAP-led government was formed in the state, people were confident that the party would be able to deliver on promises of building good schools, hospitals and other such facilities. But some people had raised questions about whether the AAP government in Punjab would be able to maintain law and order in Punjab, especially since it is a border state.
CM Kejriwal also highlighted that before the AAP-led government was formed in Punjab, the political system in the state was such that there was a nexus between the politicians and gangsters in the state. He further added that some criminals were also given a free run by certain politicians, and several criminals had very high political connections.
Kejriwal also emphasised that the AAP government in Punjab does not have any kind of “setting” with any crime in the state. “The AAP government was firm that it would end this problem in Punjab, and in the last year, we have arrested several drug peddlers, gangsters, and members of the mafia and there are cases registered against them,” he said.
