ROHTAK: BJP MP Arvind Kumar Sharma on Saturday issued a threat to farmers who held party leader Manish Grover captive for over 9 hours in Kilo village yesterday.
Addressing a public gathering, the Rohtak parliamentarian said, “will gouge out eyes, chop off hands of those trying to look or raise their hands at him (Manish Grover)”.
Manish Grover was held hostage in Kiloi village in Rohtak district by agitated farmers while he was watching Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Kedarnath visit Live in a temple. After more than eight hours, Grover eventually apologised to the farmers with folded hands, following which he and others were allowed to leave the temple premises.

Arvind Sharma said that BJP will reign over Rohtak and Haryana for the next 25 years while Congress can keep waiting. Highlighting the recently concluded Ellenabad Haryana bypoll where Indian National Lok Dal’s Abhay Chautala won the seat with BJP coming in second and Congress losing majority of their vote share as compared to the previous elections, Sharma said that “Congress should accept that they will never make a comeback in this state”.
Launching a scathing attack at current Rajya Sabha Congress MP Deepender Hooda and former three-time Lok Sabha MP from Rohtak, Sharma said “the Hooda clan should accept that there will never be a chief minister from the family”.
Sharma accused Congress of not putting the woes of farmers, the poor and the backward classes etc in the front.
Congratulating BJP party workers, Sharma said “I want to thank and congratulate all the party workers who stood their ground after Manish Grover was held captive and said that until Grover was set free, they also would not leave.”
