Former Miss Kerala Ansi Kabeer, Runner-Up Anjana Shajan Killed In Horrific Car Crash In Kochi

KOCHI: In a tragic incident, Miss Kerala 2019, Ansi Kabeer , and the Miss Kerala 2019 runner-up, Dr Anjana Shajan, died in a car accident on the Vyttila-Palarivattom Bypass in Kochi on Sunday night.

According to sources, Kabeer and Shajan suffered fatal injuries in the accident which took place when the car tried to save a motorbike and rammed into a tree. Both died on the spot. The two were sitting on the front and back seats on the left side of the car. Of the two other passengers in the car, the condition of one is reportedly serious.

 

Hailing from an orthodox family, Kabeer had braved all odds to win Miss Kerala 2019 and later Miss South India 2021. She was at the start of a promising career when the accident took her life at the age of 26. Shajan, 25, too had been building a career by acting in advertisements and short films. Police have begun an investigation into the accident.

Meanwhile, after hearing the news of the unfortunate death of her daughter Kabeer, Raseena was found unconscious at her house on Monday morning. According to Kadakkavoor police station, she tried to commit suicide after hearing about the accident.

She was rushed to a private hospital in Trivandrum and her condition is said to be stable now. Kabeer’s father is currently working abroad.
