Lakhimpur Kheri: MoS Home Ajay Mishra’s Son Ashish Sent To 14-Day Judicial Custody. The New Indian Team Reports From Ground

LAKHIMPUR KHERI: Ashish Mishra, son of Union Minister Ajay Mishra Teni and accused of running over farmers in Lakhimpur Kheri, finally appeared before the Police on Saturday to record his statement on Saturday morning . He was arrested after a 12-hour marathon interrogation by the cops.

Ashish Mishra was sent to 14-day judicial custody on Sunday after police said he had been giving “evasive answers” which were not satisfactory.

At around 11 am on Saturday, Ashish Mishra reached the Crime Branch office in Lakhimpur Kheri with several supporters amid heavy deployment of police.

Mos Home Ajay Mishra Teni said his son could not appear before the police , even after 2 summons were issued for his appearance, was due to poor health.

The second notice warned Ashish Mishra about initiating a legal action if he now failed to appear for probe.

Two people Luvkush and Ashish Pandey were arrested for mowing down farmers on Sunday but the victim families demand strict action against the minister as they believe he was the one responsible from crushing down their men through his SUV.

Angry farmers had also allegedly lynched some people in the vehicles making the overall death toll rise up to 8, which included a reporter Raman Kashyap covering the clashes.

The other dead included three BJP workers, one of which was a driver.

A nine-member team headed by DIG Upendra Agarwal has been constituted  to investigate the high-profile case.
