Expressing serious concern over the leakage of a list of 56 Kashmiri Hindu employees working under the Prime Minister’s Rehabilitation Package (PMRP) by terrorists, Jammu and Kashmir BJP on Sunday urged the police to launch an investigation.
Recently, the list of 56 employees working under the PM package was made public by terrorist outfit The Resistance Front (TRF)), an offshoot of Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT).
In a statement, J&K BJP spokesperson Altaf Thakur called upon LG Manoj Sinha’s administration to ensure safety and security of Kashmiri Pandits working under the PMRP in Kashmir Valley amid targeted killings.
Thakur said it was surprising to see the fresh list of 56 Kashmiri Pandit employees getting leaked and reaching the TRF’s blog. “This is a security breach as terrorists have clear idea who is posted where,” he said.
He further said that the government must take strong note of it and identify the perpetrator when targeted killings are taking place in the Valley.
Demanding strict action against the officers involved in the act, the BJP leader urged the police to investigate how the list got leaked and reached the terror outfit.
“Kashmiri Pandits working under the PM package are already living under fear due the killing of their colleagues and the fresh threat has added to their woes,” Thakur said, and demanded enhanced security for such Hindu employees.
He urged the government to take fresh threats seriously and address the matter on priority while chalking out a fresh strategy to deal with terror organizations’ strategy to selectively kill Hindus working in Kashmir.
The PM package is the most prominent scheme launched by the Central government for rehabilitation of Kashmir Hindus who had to flee their homes in the Valley due to Pakistan-sponsored terrorism in the 90s. Nearly 4000 employees are working in state government departments under this scheme.
