AAP Mantri Jain’s Jail ‘Masseur’ Is Accused Of Raping Minor

The man seen in a viral video giving massage to jailed Delhi minister Satyendar Jain was not a physiotherapist, but another fellow prisoner lodged in Tihar jail in a rape case, officials sources said on Tuesday in contradiction of AAP leaders’ claims on the masseur’s identity.

Last week, a video was widely circulated on social media showing a man putting oil and gel on the legs of minister Jain, prompting the opposition Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) to launch a full-fledged poster war on the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).

AAP leaders have maintained that Jain was suffering from a spinal disease and took massage on the advice of doctors, calling the ‘masseur’ a physiotherapist.

However, sources in Tihar jail identified the ‘masseur’ as Rinku who is lodged in the jail in a rape case. He was charged under section 6 of the Protection Of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO) and sections 376, 506 and 509 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) by Jafarpur Kalan police station in Delhi.

Jail has been lodged in Tihar jail for the past five months in a case of money laundering. He was arrested by the Enforcement. His two bail applications have been rejected so far, with the court saying he was “prima facie” involved in concealing the “proceeds of crime”.

The viral CCTV video threw the AAP on the backfoot as opposition parties launched an attack on chief minister Arvind Kejriwal’s claims of running a ‘clean’ party ahead of crucial civic polls in Delhi.

Reacting to the revelation, BJP leader Kapil Mishra said that Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal was protecting Jain because he knew many secrets of the AAP chief.

“Why are Kejriwal Ji and (Manish) Sisodia Ji trying to protect a rapist? Why did Kejriwal Ji say on TV that the man giving a massage to Jain is a physiotherapist?” he asked.

Indian Association of Physiotherapists (IAP) also condemned the party’s defence as an insult to the professionals. “We are getting complaints from our members and various physiotherapists across the country against the video. It has been said that a physiotherapy session was given to the said minister in the video.  But it was not a physiotherapy session. It is a way of degrading our profession,” said its chief Dr Sanjiv K Jha.

Meanwhile, jail authorities have launched an enquiry into the incident as well as to figure out how the video got leaked.

Earlier this month, the Tihar jail superintendent was suspended for alleged involvement in providing special treatment to Jain. On July 30 this year, the court had taken cognizance of the ED charge sheet against Jain, his wife and eight others, including four firms in connection with the hawala transactions.

Along with minister Jain, his wife Poonam, Vaibhav Jain, Ankush Jain, Ajit Prasad Jain and Sunil Jain including four private firms are named as accused under the money laundering act.

It had filed a prosecution complaint (charge sheet) naming the Delhi minister and others.
