India To Get Twitter Blue In Less Than A Month: Elon Musk

Indian Twitter users can expect to access the microblogging site’s Twitter Blue features for a price of $8 or Rs 650 in less than a month. The company’s owner Elon Musk made this information public when someone asked him when the features of Twitter Blue will be available in India.

Twitter on Saturday rolled out its much talked about $8 verification service. Twitter chief Elon Musk had given a deadline of November 7 to his team have the paid verification model known as “Twitter Blue” ready for roll out. The update though, is currently available only on iPhones in some regions.

For now, Twitter Blue with verification is available on iOS in the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and the UK.

In a statement the company said that users in some select countries will be eligible for the Blue Twitter package for $7.99/month.

Earlier Musk had explained that Twitter Blue is not about getting a blue checkmark for $8 . It will come with a host of other features. Blue Tick will allow users to upload long form video, audio, prioritise search, replies and mentions. “We can also start sharing revenue with content creators,” he said.

The price for Twitter Blue will be “adjusted by nation proportionate to purchasing power parity,” Musk had previously stated. But the how exactly the calculations and readjustments would be done is still not known.
