The main witness in the Kanhaiyalal murder case in Udaipur, Rajkumar Sharma (50), had suffered a brain haemorrhage and was admitted to the hospital. Rajkumar was brought to MB Hospital in critical condition on Saturday.

For his treatment, a team of doctors from SMS Hospital Jaipur was sent to Udaipur after making a green corridor on Monday afternoon.

Talking to The New Indian, SMS Hospital principal Dr Rajiv Bagarhatta said, “We received information that the patient is in critical condition. Hence, Dr Manish Aggarwal and Dr Rashim Kataria were sent to Udaipur by making a green corridor to avoid any form of delay. They left at around 4.30 pm on Monday. When they’ll reach, the operation will begin.”

Orders to send doctors from Jaipur came from the Chief Minister’s Office. Officials in Udaipur said that Rajkumar’s hands stopped working while he was getting ready. Then he suddenly fell onto the bed.

Rajasthan Revenue minister Ramlal Jat, reached the hospital to meet the family of the patient and posted pictures on social media. District Collector Tarachand Meena also reached the hospital. Both also met the doctors of the neurology unit. Rajkumar Sharma has been admitted to the ICU of the Super Specialty Wing with tight security arrangements.

Rajkumar used to work at Supreme Tailors in Kanhaiyalal Sahu’s shop on Maldas Street for eight years. On June 28, Rajkumar was present with Kanhaiya when he was hacked to death by two men from the Muslim community. Rajkumar tried to save Kanhaiya but got injured himself.

It was around 2 pm on June 28 when Kanhaiyalal was murdered by Riyaz and Ghaus Mohammad. The accused committed this act because Kanhaiyalal posted messages on social media in support of Nupur Sharma’s alleged statement on Prophet Mohammad.
